The other practical point is geography. With a base on the coast, a service starting in Naples includes the empty run up: if you are staying in Naples, the quote starts higher than a Naples NCC’s. If you are staying in Positano, Praiano or Amalfi, it is the other way round.
How to check him before you pay
Four things to ask in the first email or message, and to have confirmed in writing:
- that the NCC licence published is the one belonging to the vehicle that turns up, registration included;
- the total figure with stops included, the cost of an hour’s waiting and who pays any ferries or parking;
- whether the driver assigned is him or an outside colleague, and in which vehicle;
- if you need a language other than English, explicit confirmation that it will be the service language.
Always send the exact meeting point, the flight or train time and the number of bags: the quote request page asks for precisely that, and it is why a quote arrives closed rather than as “from €300”.
