Around Vesuvio sells the transport, not the ticket. Its cheapest product takes you up to the quota 1000 car park and back for €22, and the combo with Pompeii costs €28: figures that look unbeatable until you add the entrance fees, which here are always an extra. With the tickets in, the combo comes to around €59.68 and the comparison with the platform tours flips over.
What it is
A travel agency based in Pompeii: the published addresses are via Roma 32, via Roma 75 and viale Mazzini 40, the VAT number is 09632091212, the telephones are +39 081 0201145 and +39 348 4544045. The stated model is the shared minibus tour with hotel pick-up and departures from Pompeii, Naples, Salerno and Sorrento; private tours are quoted on request.
The site claims official local guides licensed by the Regione Campania and, on the home page, an average score of 4.4: that is the agency’s own review module, it does not say how many ratings it is based on, and the “customer verdicts” page gathers only open testimonials, with no average. Independent sources paint a harsher picture: the Tripadvisor page for Around Vesuvio stands at 2.2 from 88 reviews. It is worth reading before you book. The firm contradicts itself on its age, too — the home page says more than fifteen years, the “about us” page says two decades of trading — and the year of incorporation is published nowhere: treat both figures as approximate.
The agency also resells on the platforms: it has a supplier page on GetYourGuide, where the same itineraries appear with standard penalties and the tickets already inside the price.

The price list and the real total
From the site: Vesuvius Easy Tour Transfer, three hours, €22; the Vesuvius-Pompeii combo, five and a half hours, €28, seventeen participants maximum; Vesuvius and Herculaneum, six hours, €42; Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius, eight hours, €52; Naples, seven and a half hours, €60; Amalfi Grand Tour, nine hours, €69; Capri, ten hours, €90; the Amalfi Coast by sea, eleven hours, €93.
Now the tickets. The Gran Cono is sold online only and costs €10 plus €1.68 in booking fees according to parconazionaledelvesuvio.it, in time bands of fifty places every ten minutes; the Pompei express costs €20 according to pompeiisites.org, issued in your name, and Herculaneum €16 according to ercolano.cultura.gov.it. So:
| Product | List price | With tickets | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vesuvius Easy Tour Transfer | €22 | ~€33.68 | 3 hours |
| Vesuvius-Pompeii combo | €28 | ~€59.68 | 5.5 hours |
| Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius | €52 | ~€99.68 | 8 hours |
The inclusions are generous on everything else, though: hotel pick-up, the minibus, car parks, restricted-zone charges, tolls, fuel and the run home, plus an audio guide and a map for Pompeii. Insurance is not covered and the site says so: it recommends you take out your own.
The practical detail: what the day is like
On the combo you set off in the morning, a driver takes you to the pick-up point, the minibus climbs to quota 1000 and from there you walk up to the rim of the crater, where a volcanologist guide is stated. Then you drop down to Pompeii: here the staff run through the itineraries at the entrance and you do the visit yourself with an audio guide and a map. It is not a guided tour of the excavations, and that is the main difference from the €45–50 platform products: the full comparison is in Pompeii and Vesuvius in a day.
If you would rather handle the tickets yourself, the Gran Cono time band and the named Pompeii ticket are booked as explained in tickets and passes, and the trains to reach the pick-up point are in getting around.
Wear closed shoes: the Gran Cono path is volcanic gravel on a climb, and the site rates the combo as medium effort and the triple itinerary as hard. If you would rather do the crater alone, the alternatives — the Vesuvio Express shuttle from Ercolano and the EAV 808 bus from Pompeii — are compared in Vesuvius in a day.

How to check before you pay
Two clauses matter more than the rest. Cancellation: a full refund only if the written request arrives at least seven days ahead, nothing under seven days; the home page quotes sixty days and that contradiction needs settling by email. And the extra tickets: they are not refundable, changeable or transferable, so if you move the date you lose that portion even when you cancel within the terms.
Third thing, lateness: fifteen minutes of waiting on shared tours, thirty on transfers, then a no-show with the full charge. The number on the voucher is the one to call if the pick-up does not turn up. And if you want a private itinerary designed for you, know that beyond the second revision the agency charges a non-refundable €250 fee.

Who should book here
Anyone who already has the Gran Cono ticket in their pocket and just wants to get up there without thinking; anyone staying in Pompeii, Salerno or Sorrento who wants a hotel pick-up; anyone doing Capri or the Amalfi Coast in a day who would rather have a minibus than a full-size coach. Anyone who wants a guide inside Pompeii and one price covering the entrance fees will do better on the platforms or among the products in our comparison of day trips, and for the crater with a volcanologist guide there is our review of VESUVIOPOMPEITOUR.
Questions people ask
Who is Around Vesuvio?
A travel agency based in Pompeii — addresses at via Roma 32, via Roma 75 and viale Mazzini 40 — VAT number 09632091212, telephones +39 081 0201145 and +39 348 4544045. It runs shared tours departing from Pompeii, Naples, Salerno and Sorrento and states that its guides are licensed by the Regione Campania.
What do the tours cost?
From the price list on the site: Vesuvius Easy Tour Transfer, three hours, €22; the Vesuvius-Pompeii combo, five and a half hours, €28; Vesuvius and Herculaneum, six hours, €42; Pompeii-Herculaneum-Vesuvius, eight hours, €52; Naples, seven and a half hours, €60; Amalfi Grand Tour, nine hours, €69; Capri, ten hours, €90; the Amalfi Coast by sea, eleven hours, €93.
Are the entrance tickets included?
No, and you need to budget for them. On the Vesuvius-Pompeii combo the site specifies that the Vesuvius ticket and the Pompeii ticket are excluded and get added among the extras. The Gran Cono costs €10 online plus €1.68 in booking fees according to parconazionaledelvesuvio.it, and the Pompei express €20 according to pompeiisites.org: the real total for the combo is therefore around €59.68.
Is there a guide inside Pompeii?
Not on the combo: the site describes a briefing on the itineraries and staff assistance before you go in, then a multilingual audio guide and a map for visiting on your own. At the crater on Vesuvius, by contrast, a volcanologist guide is stated.
How does cancellation work?
The general conditions provide a full refund if the written request arrives at least 7 days ahead, and no refund under 7 days. The home page talks about free cancellation up to 60 days ahead: it is the murkiest line on the site, so get the 7 days confirmed in writing.
Can you get money back on tickets bought as extras?
No. The conditions say that entrance tickets bought together with the tour are not refundable, changeable or transferable, even if you cancel within the terms. That is the clause that hurts most if you need to move the date.
How long does the minibus wait if I am late?
Fifteen minutes past the time on shared tours, thirty on transfers, after which it counts as a no-show with the full charge. The same limit applies at stops with free time: the staff tell you the time to be back.
