What it actually is

In the site footer the firm gives its name as Capri island Tour S.a.S di Palmieri Antonello & C., registered at Via Roma 89 in Capri with VAT number 09970441219. That detail matters: it means you have a legal entity to name if something goes wrong, which many boat operators in the Gulf do not publish. The shore office is at Via Don Giobbe Ruocco 59, a few metres from the harbour, and the owner is Antonello Palmieri, a Capri man the site names as founder and skipper.

The fleet is made up of Capri gozzi: the capri.net portal lists among its charters a traditional 7.5-metre gozzo (up to 7 people, from €312), a Fratelli Aprea (7 people, from €468), an Apreamare 35 (8 people, from €1,019), a Fratelli Aprea 40 (12 people, from €1,119) and a Capri lancia (12 people, from €619). The boats can also be booked with a skipper for a tour, and there the name and the price change.

What it publishes and what it costs

The operator’s own site describes the itineraries but does not show a fixed price list: listings, availability and prices all run through capri.net, the Caprionline portal that also signs off the site. From there the numbers are readable and comparable, always “per boat”:

How the day works

You meet at the harbour of Marina Grande, beside the ferry jetty: it is the easiest logistics you can get on Capri, because you step off the hydrofoil and onto the boat without moving. The site notes that there is somewhere to change at the meeting point, that the big gozzi have a cabin and a toilet while the small ones used for short trips do not, and that dogs are allowed, with a sun awning on board.

The standard trip goes round the island and slips into the caves: Grotta Bianca, Grotta Verde, Grotta del Corallo, then the Faraglioni, the Arco Naturale and the Punta Carena lighthouse. The Blue Grotto is the line to settle beforehand: you can only get in aboard the small rowing boats, and you pay separately, around €19 per person at the floating ticket desk according to capri.it, with the official price not published online. In a swell or at high tide the grotto closes without warning: allow for that and do not build the day around it. How to check before you pay

Three checks are enough. First: ask for written confirmation with the duration, the number of people, the boat assigned and the words “price per boat”, because the jump from €208 to €1,619 comes down almost entirely to the vessel and the port you leave from. Second: get it in black and white what stays outside — the Blue Grotto, lunch, any landing taxes if the trip touches the coast.
