In one line: what it is and why you run into it
Musement is an Italian company that sells museum, attraction and tour tickets online. It is not a partner of ours and we do not verify its prices: you find it here because in Naples it comes up often on museum tickets and because, unlike the other marketplaces in this section, it is a travel agency with an Italian licence.
That is the difference that counts: not just a technology intermediary, but a party that can also organise on its own account.
Who the seller is
The terms of sale give Musement S.p.A., registered office at via Polesine 13 in Milan, entered in the Milan company register under number MI1995020, tax code and VAT number 07978000961, an online travel agency holding licence protocol number 170695 issued by the Lombardy Region. The footer of the site signs itself “Made in Milan, Italy”.
In September 2018 the company became part of TUI Group, one of the main European tourism groups, and it sits in the Tours & Activity division: its press office is the group’s. It declares thousands of bookable experiences in more than 100 countries. The terms also mention a licence granted by National Geographic Partners to Musement and to other entities in the group.
On Trustpilot the score is 4.0 out of 5 from more than 32,000 reviews: in the lower half of the six platforms in this section — only GetYourGuide sits below, at 3.9 — and on a volume of reviews far smaller than that of Viator or Civitatis.
The three ways it sells, and why they concern you
The general terms distinguish three ways in which the company sells you the same thing, and the party who answers you changes with them.
- A voucher to redeem. The company sells a voucher as agent or reseller of the supplier: the ticket is issued by the museum or the tour operator.
- Access to the supplier’s platform. You buy the ticket on the supplier’s platform, and the contract is concluded when it is the supplier that sends you the electronic ticket.
- Services organised in house. Here the supplier is the company itself, acting as a travel agency.
In every case the contract is completed with the sending of the voucher or the electronic ticket. The line to look for in the confirmation is therefore who issues the document: that is the party to ask for a change.

Cancellation and no-show: what the terms say
The company page promises free cancellation up to 24 hours before on thousands of experiences. The general terms are more precise and have to be read alongside that promise: by buying a product you accept the supplier’s cancellation and no-show policy, and no refund is due if you fail to turn up or turn up late. The recommendation to read that policy before booking is written by the company itself, twice.
For Naples this means one concrete thing: on the museums with timed entry — the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, the Cappella Sansevero, the Catacombe — the time you choose is a commitment, not an indication.
The comparison worth making
On the Naples museum tickets the official prices are public and low: €20 at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale, €12 at the Cappella Sansevero, €15 at Palazzo Reale. On a marketplace you pay for the convenience, not for a saving. The advantage exists when the official slot is sold out, when the museum is closed on the day you had in mind or when the product includes a licensed guide.
The comparison below lines up the Museo Archeologico Nazionale tickets on the catalogues whose prices we verify: use it as the yardstick to keep open while you look at any other site.

How to check before you pay
Three lines, in this order: who issues the ticket, the supplier’s cancellation policy and the day the place closes. In Naples the third is the one that ruins the most visits: the Museo Archeologico Nazionale and the Cappella Sansevero close on Tuesday, Palazzo Reale on Wednesday, the Catacombe on Wednesday.
If instead you buy a package the agency has put together itself, ask in writing what the price covers and what happens in the event of cancellation: in that case the party you deal with is not the museum but the agency, with the obligations Italian law places on it.

What to keep in mind
It is the most Italian of the six, with complete company details and a verifiable agency licence, and that is an advantage if you need an invoice or a counterparty bound by Italian rules. Its outside score stays in the lower half of the group, though, and on Naples tickets the official price remains the reference.
For the museum itself start from Museo Archeologico Nazionale; to work out which pass is really worth it, from tickets and passes. Whoever runs the visits in the city is in the profiles in operators and platforms.
Questions people ask
Who is behind Musement?
The terms of sale give Musement S.p.A., registered office at via Polesine 13 in Milan, entered in the Milan company register under number MI1995020, VAT number 07978000961, an online travel agency holding licence protocol 170695 issued by the Lombardy Region. In September 2018 it became part of the TUI group, where it sits in the Tours & Activity division.
Is Musement reliable?
On Trustpilot it has 4.0 out of 5 from more than 32,000 reviews: a mark in the lower half of the six platforms in this section, where only GetYourGuide sits below it, and on the smallest volume of reviews. On the corporate side it is an Italian S.p.A. with a travel agency licence, so identifiable and subject to Italian law.
What exactly does it sell?
The terms distinguish three arrangements: a voucher to be redeemed with the supplier, access to the supplier’s own platform to buy the ticket there, and tickets for services the company organises itself. The contract is concluded when the voucher or the electronic ticket reaches you.
Is cancellation free?
Only on part of the catalogue: the company page promises free cancellation up to 24 hours before on thousands of experiences, but the terms defer to the individual supplier’s cancellation and no-show policy. The terms also state that no refund is due if you fail to turn up, or turn up late.
Is it better value than the museum ticket desk?
In Naples almost never on price: the Museo Archeologico Nazionale costs €20 on the door, the Cappella Sansevero €12, Palazzo Reale €15. A platform makes sense when the official slot is full, when you want to pay in advance or when the product includes a guide.
Why do you not take prices from Musement?
Because it is not a platform we work with and we do not read its catalogue automatically. The prices on this site come from three partner catalogues and from the sites’ official channels: what we do not verify, we do not write.
